A personal interpretation of your taste — delivered through sound
Taste Lab is a human-curated music studio. We study how you listen, what you respond to, and how your life feels — then return a considered starting point built specifically for you..
Not algorithmic. Not Instant. Not for everyone.
Taste Interpretation
The Taste Calibration is a one-time, foundational service.
You submit your taste, preferences, and listening contexts. We return a curated interpretation - designed to align with how you live, work, host, move, and unwind.
This is not a playlist generator.
It’s a starting point built with intention.
Your interpretation includes:
A written interpretation of your taste
A concise, considered reading of how you listen — what you’re drawn to, what you avoid, and why certain music resonates with you more than others.
Personally curated playlist
A 30–60 minute mix designed for a specific setting (evening listening, work, hosting, travel).
The focus is coherence and flow — not discovery for its own sake.Short explanations for key selections, outlining why they belong and how they shape the overall feel of the mix.
We don’t guess your taste or generate recommendations algorithmically. We clarify what already resonates with you and build around it with intention.
One refinement round based on your feedback
1. Submit your calibration
A short questionnaire (5–7 minutes) about how you listen, live, and use music.
2. We build
Your submission is reviewed and interpreted by a human curator.
3. Delivery
Within 48–72 hours, you receive your calibration.
If we don’t believe we can do this properly, you’ll be refunded.

How it Works":
A taste interpretation is a written reading of how you listen.
It looks at the patterns beneath your preferences — not just what you like, but why it resonates. The moods you return to. The textures you respond to. The kinds of restraint, emotion, or atmosphere that consistently hold your attention.
Rather than describing genres or artists, it describes your relationship to sound.
For example (short example excerpt only):
Your taste isn’t about genres — it’s about discipline. You’re moved by music that holds its shape: tension without release, emotion without overstatement, atmosphere without theatre. You’re allergic to anything that tries too hard. But when a track is paced well and built with intent, it feels like it was made for you.
This interpretation becomes the foundation for your calibration.
It informs how your mix is built, how tracks are selected, and how the overall mood is shaped.
It’s not about defining you.
It’s about clarifying what already resonates.

Client Reviews
“I expected a nice playlist. What I got was a clear read on how I listen — and a mix that matched it. It felt precise, restrained, and honestly a little uncanny in the best way.”
— Matthew A | Sydney
“The interpretation gave me language for preferences I’ve never been able to explain. The mix was cohesive and intentional — not ‘recommendations’, but a direction. I’ve played it all week.”
— Adrian J | Byron Bay
“Nothing about it felt generic. The notes made the choices make sense, and the refinement round tightened it even further. It’s the first time music curation has felt genuinely personal.”
— Rosanna C | Sydney
